Tetra Pak CPS Puts Laurens in the Mix
18th September 2008
Tetra Pak CPS Ltd has supplied the largest cream cake manufacturer in the UK with a new jelly mix system following the success of a product launch.
Having purchased equipment from Tetra Pak CPS previously, Laurens Patisseries has already experienced the leading provider of quality capital equipment’s ability to install new systems quickly and with minimum disruption to its operation.
Tetra Pak CPS supplied an automated system that can continuously produce jelly, which is fed into holding tanks and feed fillers with a self cleaning Clean-In-Place system.
The new PLC controlled equipment has helped to improve the efficiency of Laurens' production systems and increase its product output.
The new computerised jelly mix system installed by Tetra Pak CPS also includes a recipe handling feature which automatically pre-weighs sugar in a weight hopper and adds it into the mix tank when it is required.
It has a 2,600 litre capacity where one batch can be made up while another is being discharged. This is currently achieving a continuous product flow producing up to 1,000 litres of jelly per hour.
Project Engineer for Tetra Pak CPS, Tony Emm, commented: “We are renowned for our flexibility and cost effective solutions and can tailor equipment specifically to customer needs. The company has always been able to give its customers choice, whether it be a particular component manufacturer or a flexible implementation approach.”
The Sherborne based company has been supplying mixing and blending systems for over five decades and has become a recognised UK leader in its field".
Mr Emm concluded: “The capabilities of Tetra Pak CPS are vast; we are able to meet customers' exacting requirements through individual design and cover a full range from pilot to large scale production plants. We have the ability to provide powder and liquid intake storage, liquid blending and powder incorporation, which uses the latest technology to provide homogenous mix. It is because of our skill and experience in the field that companies such as Laurens return to us time after time.”
